Globalization is a process in which humans from all over the world have interacted and is powered by trade. It is how we as a community have accomplished so much in all areas of life. Globalization why I am able to be typing this assignment on this computer at this moment and it is the reason for many good and bad things that are happening in our world. There are many people that have benefited from globalization and there are many who have not. Everyone today is in some way affected by this process of interaction. Globalization can be beneficial for developing countries, but not that is not always the result. For example a positive example of globalization in India can be the many companies and organizations that have moved into India that offer new jobs. These new jobs bring opportunity for employment of both sexes which can lead to promotion of equality between both sexes. This then brings more opportunities for women who would have otherwise have lived much less opportunistic lives. Unfortunately this also brings some negative effects. These women are sometimes only able to work low paying jobs that expose them to harmful chemicals or are in dangerous locations. These women then suffer in the face of globalization. Another example of globalization in India a McDonalds in India. McDonalds can be enjoyed by Indians and they do not have to travel faraway to enjoy it. A last example of globalization in India can be the impact globalization has had on education in India. Education is necessary for development and so countries have had to invest into their countries education. In India this has led to more students attending schools and developing skills. This has been a positive effect of globalization in India. As we can see there are both pros and cons to globalization. India has benefitted quite well from globalization there has been an increase in the literacy rate, more children attend school, women have more power and opportunities than they used to and the Indian economy has been on the rise. However with all these great things there are negative effects. Some women are put into low wage jobs that put them in harm’s way, some children are exposed to those harsh environments and chemicals because they have to tag along with their mothers, and the American culture is invading. Now as the videos stated there is much debate as to whether globalization is good or bad for us. However I see it as an opportunity to use all the positive things we have accomplished in history and push towards a better future. We have the power and ability to, right now, at this moment to make a change for the better. We have the power to use globalization for good.
